WHAT IS SOCCER 4 SOLDIERS?

Soccer 4 Soldiers is about hope. We hear a lot about hope. Our servicemen and women provide it to us every day with the selfless service they give to defend this country. But for many families of servicemen and wounded warriors, sometimes there is very little hope. Life with either a spouse deployed overseas or killed in action is an extreme hardship. Being a veteran coming home to a world that for you is different than the one you left, can be a traumatic and gut wrenching experience. Sometimes you don’t know where to turn. Sometimes you need a little help. Sometimes you need hope.

That’s where organizations like the Travis Manion Foundation come in.  Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.  In 2007, 1stLt Travis Manion (USMC) was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Today, Travis’ legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, “If Not Me, Then Who…” Guided by this mantra, veterans continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes live on in the next generation.

The TMF vision is to create a nation of purpose-driven individuals and thriving communities that are built on character. Since it’s creation it has established 4 national offices, served more than 60,000 veterans and survivors, and strengthened communities throughout the nation.

But they can’t do it without help. They need fund to operate and to continue their important outreach. That’s where we come in.

Soccer 4 Soldiers is a charity soccer tournament co-sponsored by the Helping Hands Committee of Pennsylvania Apartment Association and Buckingham United Soccer Club of the Central Bucks Athletic Association. The tournament takes place over the course of one day and follows a 4v4 “street rules” format

In addition to the tournament, there are concessions, vendors and games for the whole family. This is an amazing event for a worthwhile cause.

Come out and spend the day in the sun, playing or watching soccer all while giving support to those who really need it.
