The following is a list of frequently asked questions regarding Soccer 4 Soldiers

WHAT IS STREET RULES SOCCER?
The street rules format is based off of how we used to play as kids, without coaching and parent interference. The whole event is non-competitive and we want the kids to play and have fun while supporting this great cause. The kids are responsible for subs and parents and coaches are not involved. 1 Parent/Coach can sit with the team to assist in getting subs on and off the pitch and to provide general oversight of the team.

HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN BE ON A TEAM?
The maximum roster size is 6 players per team.

HOW LONG IS EACH GAME?
Each game is 20 minutes long without a break. The games start and end on the starters whistle

HOW MANY GAMES DOES EACH TEAM PLAY?
Depending on the registration numbers it could be up to 4 but typically we guarantee 3 games per team.

IS THIS JUST FOR TRAVEL PLAYERS?
No. We’ve got both travel and intramural divisions this year. We want this to be an event for all soccer players, of all skill levels. Boys or girls, young or old we have divisions in travel, intrmural and adult (senior) brackets.

ARE THERE REFS?
No. The kids are expected to call the game themselves and play with fairness and respect for their opponents. Laws of the game should be observed and followed. There is no offsides however.

HOW ARE SUBS ROTATED IN?
Subs are rotated in on the fly.

IT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT CAUSE BUT I CAN’T ATTEND. CAN I STILL DONATE?
Yes, this year we are set up to handle online donations. All donations are processed through paypal. The donation is tax-deductable.
